For the past few years, I’ve had this idea rattling around in my head and my heart. It started as a whisper during the fog of early motherhood — a quiet wondering about why no one was really talking about this season.
The one where you’re building a career and raising kids at the same time.
The one where ambition still lives inside you, but so does exhaustion.
The one where the word “balance” feels almost offensive, because you’re just trying to keep everyone (including yourself) alive.
When I became a mom at 28, I thought I could muscle my way through with habits and discipline. I followed all the rules. I worked hard. I slept when the baby slept. I exercised. I kept my ambition intact; I climbed the ladder.
And still, ten years in, I found myself completely depleted.
Somewhere between “doing it all” and “having it all,” I realized there was no map for what working motherhood really looks like. So once I caught my breath, I decided to open up the conversation.
That’s what Look Both Ways is — a conversation for women doing both.
Each episode explores a real story behind the highlight reels: how women are actually navigating ambition, identity, and parenthood in a world that wasn’t built for this duality. No two stories will be the same — and that’s the point.
This first 5 min episode is different from what’s to come — it’s just me, sharing how and why this project was born, and what I hope this space becomes.
It’s unfiltered, hopeful, and help-first — like a tall glass of fresh-squeezed honesty.
As I write this, I’ve recorded my first three stories. Each different, inspiring, soulful and heartfelt.
